I have been using the formula in writer lately. For ‘cdot’, a command to
put a dot between two symbols to indicate multiplication, the dot is not
showing up in the document. The other multiplication binary operator ‘times’
that puts an x between two symbols to indicate multiplication

This has been documented [1] already so we avoid confusion
