seems we have no other choice
maybe we can try to get certified on Java17 but we still need green TCKs
first anyway, which is not reachable without Java17 right now.

If we are allowed to set baseline to +17, im ok with it.
New user can just use 17 and existing users can easily upgrade Java when
they already migrate their whole code to Jakarta.

Hi,
as you may know, i'm currently working on TomEE10. All our applications are
working fine now.
i currently have some timeslots to refactor some parts and the whole XML
parsing in container/openejb-* is quite weird. There is still JAXB and SXC.

Hi Richard,
about JSF:
in theory it should not even compile, there is no "import
jakarta.faces.bean.ManagedBean" anymore.
You can just delete this 3 tests as it tests old JSF managed beans, which
was completely removed. We just reuse CDI now.

Would it be possible to upgrade those and release a new version? Would be

Hi,
we currently have a bug where the TomEE 8.0.8-plus.zip contains a MyFaces
JAR with different size compared to the one in the Maven repo.
It seems that it shades the META-INF\resources\javax.faces to
META-INF\resources\jakarta.faces but this should not happen in 8.0.8.
It also weird that it
yep
i think we have to maintain 8.0.x anyway as its the last javax release and
we cant expect that everyone does a fast migration
IMO the following is the best way:
- branch 8.0.x
- make master 9.0 and rename javax -> jakarta
- branch 9.0 after everything is working fine
- working on 10.0 in
TBH we have to migrate to jakarta anyway. Targeting EE9 or EE10.
IMO the most people dont care about EE9, so i would branch/tag EE9 on the
road to EE10 but never maintain or release it.
Also not sure about the exact timeline, when we should start to migrate.

Hey Guys,
We recently released MyFaces 3.0 RC1.
I think we have to use it for 9.0?

I think its to much work to maintain 2 branches. Maybe it would be a good
idea to create a TomEE8 and TomEE9 from master?
Are there any news? the tomee-embedded-maven-plugin is still not useable.

Please Jon, that would be great!
I created the ticket because of a Johnzon bug i see in my application.
The OWB upgrade isn't that important for me but Johnzon is :)

I think a good start would be to publish the testresults somewhere, so we
can check them.
I could e.g. handle JSF tests.

Hi,
there were some "possible issues" with bval in the last months, especially:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BVAL-174
(also see https://www.mail-archive.com/dev@bval.apache.org/msg01042.html)
and
https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/BVAL/issues/BVAL-175
both are no issues from our

Please also see Romains comment in BVal-175.

currently in the release vote :)
