John, it is customary to give actual freq as seen on the waterfall. When we see a spot and click on it, that is where we look on the screen, and where we automatically copy a signal. Some may not have a software program that reads the audio freq on the screen, but that is where it goes anyway

Rig control uses a serial port's TXD and RXD signals to send commands to the transceiver and to receive responses from the transceiver. Some transceivers can be directed to switch between reception and transmission by sending rig control commands. Others can only be switched via an input signal

The trick is to use VOX to control the TX for digital, so it really doesn't matter what software you use. I had looked at HRD a couple of years ago, and wasn't impressed. Downloaded the current version the other day, and AM really impressed, Simon has done a great job . Also tried PSK31 Deluxe

Probably because the majority of us have used only the sound cards that have come with the computers, because we have been happy with, and satisified by them. I have used at least a half dozen different computers in the shack since I started with them around 1992, and have had no complaints of

I've asked this question on several forums, and there seems to be no concise answer. My computer has the integrated "on board" sound, which I have used successfully to decode digital modes of most types. Now that I am about to upgrade to General (or higher) license, and will be able to transmit a
