What about PSKReporter? (http://www.pskreporter.info

from the PSKReporter output back into your digital comm program (that I
know of), there are certainly decent interfaces in fldigi (Thank you,
David and friends) and HRD
Some redundant opinions here ...
If you are a Windows user, HRD and DM780 are simply twelve kinds of wonderful.
Too many features? Don't use the ones you don't need. Simon designed the

I use Ubuntu 8.04 here with fldigi and qsstv and it is very well behaved. If
you are new to Linux, you could do worse than Ubuntu. I would consider going
with 9.04 though, instead of 9.10, at least until you figure out if all the
possible Ham radio applications you might want to run WILL run
PSKReporter is pretty cool. Now that it is supported in HRD/DM780 as well as
FLDigi, it is really easy to enable. And it provides the individual operator
with tangible feedback on their own, at least if they are operating on one of
the more busy bands, like 20M. If your station is idle, you
I have been watching this thread with interest. This last weekend I dialed in
the 30M freq at 10.148 and was pleased to hear some reasonably strong signals
on my faithful IC-718. I will upgrade my fldigi install and see if I can get
this going in the next week or two ...

That sounds like a very reasonable request. Well written and good job!

I agree with Frank that this was a reasonable and civilized response. I have

Thanks, Peter / Phil / John / Simon et al for your suggestions.
I have managed to avoid installing Vista altogether, but I will likely give all
of these suggestions a try, including using Windows 7, which I am going to have
to try anyway at some time or other.
I still vastly prefer Linux

I started out using HRD / DM780, then for OS reasons (not having to do with HRD

running fldigi for the last couple of months. No big complaints ... fldigi is

Great discussion on Linux here ... glad to see someone willing to give
it a try. I just switched over to Linux for digital modes, and while I
miss some of the features of Simon's very fine HRD/DM780 program, the

Greetings, all.
I'm a rather new ham and very recent General class licensee who is very
interested in digitial modes. I've acquired a RiggBlaster, fabricated a
