Question 2 of the evening: has anyone done any comparative user research yet on different layouts for touchscreen keyboards on mobile phones? I'm just not convinced that the metaphor translates for a QWERTY keyboard on a one-hand device with no actual buttons. Will probably do said research

I have seen cases where a space is allotted for where an error message will go if it occurs. Designed well, users with no error never notice that the space is there, it just integrates into the design. (I've also seen this done poorly, of course where there's a big obvious blank space.)

This may be because of the fact that when you login to Yahoo! Mail, you also automatically login to the Messenger service included within Yahoo! mail. What you can do is login in again to your Yahoo! Messenger. Once you login using your messenger, it will auto close your web messenger
