I can hear the music in the background but it's covered by alot of loud
squeaks and static. I tested several albums yesterday, all 48khz 24b
except one that was 48khz 16b and they all had the same issue. Is it
worth trying out the 6.1 build (using 6.0.3 - 3085 at the moment).

I am seeing this all the time over th last 7-8 days - but try
restarting the service when it bugs. That usually works for me.
I have not debugged, but - hey - this is the development branch so if
you want a stable release go back to 6.0.2

I used to use ZoneAlarm before I moved on to Sygate personal firewall. Much
better. Other people have recommended Kerio. Both are free.

It's too early to say my problem is resolved, but I managed to get my SB
to behave for over two hours listening last night after much mucking

With the 5/27 and 5/28 nightlies, ver 6.1 of slim.exe is gobbling up all my
cpu's resources. System resources used by slim.exe rise to 99% and the
computer comes to a virtual halt (it takes minutes for ctrl-alt-delete to
take effect). I had not had this problem previously. I reverted back to the

dismantled everything for decorating, tried putting everything back
together and no sign of life in the squeezbox, had the power supply
checked with no faults found. anyone any ideas? the main unit just
seems to be dead

OK, I've got a new hard drive in the box and am no longer getting the
HD errors causing the system to remount read-only and
screwing with the slimserver process. However, once again I'm having
the parent process dying on me. Below is the results
