I have been changing my SB2 menues around. I want to make the SB2 more
friendly for my guests who stay at my house. I have it set so that when
you turn on SB2 you are only presented with the Browse Music Folder
option. But is it possible to have it set so that as soon as you turn
it on it is

I'd be happy to take a crack at coding it -- no guarantees though.
Any quick hints on where in the code to look to get started?

What would be the easiest way to disable cuesheet parsing by slimserver?
My collection is multiple flac files, and I use EAC's non-standard
cuesheets for burning to CDR...but those don't appear to work well with
slimserver, since total times are not listed. Perhaps a better solution
would be to

For Squeezebox2 we'll need to fix bug 1320 also, since there aren't
enough steps in the volume control to make this work effectively, but
that shouldn't stop you from getting the server-side working right.

I have tried to connect using the MS Windows cmd prompt telnet command.
When I do telnet localhost 9090, I get a blank window with flashing cursor.
If I type anything, such as login or version, the telnet session just exits

Nope. You're connected, but you need to speak (well, type) in the
proper dialect of slimserver command-line-interface. ;-)

I typed logon user pass and got an echo back: login user.
I then tried player ? and got back: player %3F.
I guess %3F is hex (63 dec). The ASCII of that is 5. I don't have 5 players

Yeah I power cycled, and the netowkr connections apprears fine, can browse

Is it possible that your computer firewall has blocked port 9000,
which streams the audio?

there others? I have OS X 10.3.9 and would love to get sync to work
