Hi kdf,
At the moment the SB2 is disconnected from the network and i've tried
resetting to factory defaults. I'm assuming that would include
brightness settings, right?
Extra info:
The optical connector does light up when power is connected.
The power supply seems ok (outputs 5V approx).

Hi,
My SB2 seems to have a hardware problem (correct me if I'm wrong).
It has been working fine for a few weeks, but now the display has gone
blank. Power cycling doesn't help. I can still hear music if I play
files using the web interface, but the volume is very low. It responds
to the remote,

You might consider it, something like the station ID if it were internet radio.
Can't blame them for a bit of advert
A unix command line tool which takes wav/pcm input from stdin and sends output
to stdout is all that is required.
Look in the file convert.conf to see how conversion commands are already connected by pipes - you just add another process to the
pipeline [at the end]

I did say please? Why? Am I not allowed to express an opinion? What makes me so
different from yourself? I happen to recall a thread about a whole new UI,
mentioning clutter and slowness.
Thanks for your answer Sean. Measuring and building the appropriate
filter (convolution) can be done with something like DRC, so that aside
what is needed to get it off the ground is the ability to "plug-in" a
premeasured convolver into the stream. On the linux side, there are
programs like Brut
Architecturally speaking, this could be done very simply by hooking a
DSP app into SlimServer using convert.conf. Then there might be a
plugin front-end which provides some controls to initiate measurements
(via PC sound card presumably), view parameters etc.
I have read a bit about room correct

When you first connect to the SqueezeNetwork with your player, you
should be presented with a PIN. If you skip past it, browse to
SqueezeNetwork -> Settings -> Squeezebox PIN and you'll be able to
see it again.

Hi,
I've upgraded my old Slimp3 and got a nice new SB2. Trying to connect to
squeezenetwork, just sits and waits. it never connects. Is there anything I
need to do? is it available to all users, i.e., to UK customers as well as
US? Is the server down?
I want my internet radio access without my PC

kdf,
What about kbelinski's second question?
2. Is there an easy visual indicator to tell whether SB2 is decoding?

The SB2 supports native FLAC decoding. I think that is configurable at
Server Settings -> File Types. A couple of questions:
[...]
2. Is there an easy visual indicator to tell whether SB2 is decoding
FLAC natively vs a server-transcode?
As KDF says, there's no "easy visual indicator". However

At some point when upgrading to 6.1.1, or maybe slightly before,
significant modifications were made to my music subdirectory. These
include:
1. Duplicate songs appearing under each album folder, such as:
Soulive - Tuesday Night's Squad.mp3
Soulive - Tuesday Night's Squad 1.mp3
Soulive - Tuesd
Is there anyway to remove this line from streaming Mp3's in winamp or

Mp3 Name (Welcome to Slimserver!)
Great product, can't wait for my device to get here!
