This seems like a similar situation, where it is a mistake to let a
wireless SB know you are impatient to hear your music.

Thank you guys, it makes much more sense now. I always thought that the
tag info was stored in a seperate file some where. Big Duh on my part
but I'm fairly new to this ripping and encoding thing.

No WAF to overcome here, but the GF got me a turntable for my birthday.
While having it's charms, more than anything it makes me appreciate the
Squeezebox.
For ultimate WAF the player's display should show vacation photos when
idle.

A terrible loud noise when I switch to a different song off my hard

changes to filenames, file locations, directory names, etc. then you

One significant down side to them is they have a rather bright blue LED
in the Sub. Currently have a t-shirt draped over the top to stop this

Also Ben, a Linux guru like yourself can go even further. Obviously the
device runs a Linux kernel and you can get a command-line either through
the web interface or by telnet.
You can load scripts and schedule them via cron.

Some programs let you change which IP they will bind to but I don't
think that Rhapsody does. I couldn't find it in any documentation.

Lasy May (yes I'm slow at this) DD-WRT 23 was upgraded to "DD-WRT 23
SP1".
Since everything was working flawlessly with my wireless network and my
SB3, even with WPA2/AES, I was hesistant to upgrade the firmware from 23
to 23 SP

Found out what problem was thanks to fred7. I have VMWare installed
which has 2 virtual network addresses and it was picking one of those
instead of the IP address of my actual PC. After disabling them it now
works fine. Is there no way of telling it which ip address to use ?

Where Slimserver is installed I have used 59% (94gb free) and where /tmp
is 67% used (117mb free)

Last night I changed the Qnap standby time from 15 mins to 5 mins
(cant imagine that made any difference). Then I cleared the database
and rescanned (dont see why this should make any difference either,
but maybe it has). I disconnected the Ethernet
I've decoded my problematic FLACs back to wav, and encoded them with
FLAC frontend again using flac 1.1.1
Now the SS 6.3.1 metaflac subroutine can parse and read the tags, as
well as playing them.
So the answer to my question: what has changed as from 6.3?
