look at http://...:9000/log.txt, this log file starts from the point of
relaunch. How can I see what happened before the crash, i.e. where
slimserver was scanning?

I'l running Slimserver 6.3.0 and release 55 on the SB3, but suffer this
bug regually with playback of Apple lossless files.

Have a look at Windows' event viewer. You can enable logging to file from
the command line (slim.exe --logfile logfilepath)

May as well be the first to say this: you might want to think about
compressing your WAV files with a lossless codec such as FLAC.
Search the forums, there are plenty of threads discussing why you would

I have two Squeezeboxes. Using optical cables, one is connected to a
STR-DA4ES and the other to an STR-DB930. Both are surround receivers

To the original question, my guess is I'm pretty sure there will a SB4
and sooner than we think. The SB3 free giveaway with Transporter
pre-order is probably a way to get rid of some surplus stock before
going ahead and announcing the SB4. We should probably start a SB4
whish list immediately!

I installed v6.3.1 to see if I could overcome my ISP connection
problem(see other thread) and slimserver now crashes(shuts itself down)

Can you provide some more details on your system and the crash.
If you are using windows then the event log will hold details of the

Slimserver. It was already Started. I stopped it, restarted it and
Squeezebox was activated.

where I can pause music, but I cannot seem to unpause it. When I try
to do so, the display changes from Paused to Now Playing, but no
sound comes out. In addition, the sound level meter on the SqueezeBox

I had a similar problem. I realized that softsqueeze is treated as a
separate player and the one I was pausing/unpausing was the softsqueeze
player. If you go to the top right of Slimserver you can select the
other player number. Which will then control your SB.
