When SlimServer is idle, it uses 0% and once every 10 seconds or so 2%,
on an otherwise idle machine. When scanning, and nothing else is
happening on the machine, why shouldn't slim.exe use close to 100% of
the CPU cycles? Why waste them on the System Idle Process? This is of

Slim::Schema is a 6.5 module. Did you downgrade from a 6.5 nightly at
some point? Try completely deleting your SlimServer directory and
reinstalling.

Is your laptop also wireless?
If so, you will almost certainly have problems. The data has to go a
total of three times across your wireless network:
1) from the NAS to your laptop, via the access point
2) from your laptop to the access point
3) from the access point to the Squeezebox

In the ones I've seen, the windows program is only used to set up
encryption.
Unless you're worried about your next door neighbour tapping into your
network, encryption isn't worth the trouble.

i have written a bat file that contains the following:

this passes the parameter of the bat file to the perl. this works ok
if the parameter does not contain a space...
but as most music folders contain spa
One thing to note though, if the tagging software doesn't change the
time stamp on the files, slimserver won't realise that the file has
changed. If thats the case you need to get it to forget everything and
completely re-scan.
I use Tag&Rename and it has an option to change the modified time sta
can't wait. The Reg photos aren't that great.

Yes, ok, i can see that single quotes won't work as command line quotes
in cmd.exe. Sorry, I was using the cygwin bash shell under Windows.
You can place the Telnet.pm module under C:\Perl\lib\Net in ActivePerl.

My guess is that is it is a problem with the Roku emulation of a
squeezebox.
Are you sending MP3 to Roku ?
If Roku does not get data within 6 secs it breaks connections and stops
playing anything sent by Slimserver.
Try using d_source and look at log when making this happen.

If you're using the Slimserver pre amp volume control be careful when
switching to SqueezeNetwork. SqueezeNetwork will not be aware of your
pre amp volume control, which can give you (and your speakers) a bit of
a shock !
