Yes, though I don't know the current state of squeezeslave. SqueezeSlave
is a command line client without a GUI and is IMHO developped in C. It
should therefore use less memory than SoftSqueeze

I have recently changed my setup from a flakey old pc to a Mac mini with
all my music stored on an external HDD through firewire.Computer is in
the spare bedroom wired over LAN to the squeezebox in the living room
When I am not running slimserver in the background the HDD stays quiet
as a mouse.

bits. Unfortunatley, 1 of them has stopped working wirelessly.

Some times the MAC address can change. If you use MAC filtering on your
wireless network you better check this first.
hold the left button for a while - go to current settings - MAC
address. Check if it's the same as writen on the bottom of your
squeezebox.

Since you know how to start up with debug flags, try d_scan (I think?)
The scanning process is tripping up on something. Do you have
recursive shortcuts or playlists that reference moved or non-existent
tracks?

Actually, deleting the cache (ie everything uder server\Cache) did not
help. I just tried again, and this time, even though I had not bothered
to upgrade the firmware, when I backed out to 6.5.0, as soon as the SB3
tried to connect SS crashed. I again had to a complete uninstall and
re-install of
Sorry, you can't. iTunes doesn't know anything about the Squeezebox and
can't control it.

already turned the Squeezebox off?

The wma is probably the problem! I have a wireless sqeezbox running
just fine. I also have a squeezebox 2, and this is the one having the
problem. Other internet music plays fine. Let me try to find the wma
disable information,and give it a try. Thanks again...

When you put SB on standby the energy settings of your mac should kick
in, computer sleep at xxx minutes, display sleep at xxx minutes and HD
sleep at xxx minutes. I use an external Maxtor usb2 drive that detects
when no data is being transfered and powers down accordingly. I also

In file type settings should I set stream type to WAV or FLAC for
playing back FLAC files? I have the stream type set for WAV at the
moment. I changed it to FLAC, but when I tried to play some FLAC files

paragraph: "the server expects parameters to be encoded using
percent-style escaping
