Autorescan has been around for ages. I have it rescan every night at 3am or something. I do a full wipe-scan then, just in case there were a lot of changed tags: it works better to wipe first since that ensures old tags get deleted. Of course, that means leaving the server on at odd hours, but

Yeah, it works here. But to be honest, I cannont tell you why that is. Maybe you have some setting (plugins!!!) that recheck with the server every so-and-so. I don't know, stupid RSS feeds or alikes. Maybe you should reset the whole thing? Or try and disable most of the plugins for a start at

Any file format in SlimServer - Server Settings - File Types that says built-in will allow FF/REW. If it doesn't, it's being transcoded because the built-in decoder has been disabled. Make sure built-in is checked and no other ones are for that format, although it should choose the built-in
