Dear all, I am running a Qnap TS101 and wirelessly feeding my squeezebox (ver 6.3.1)with audio. Everything is fine but I cannot get it to fast forward or rewind by holding the appropriate button down as per the manual. Is this a prob with wireless or a bug? any suggestions would be welcome. --

Yes, .WMA is transcoded on 6.3.1, not native. So unfortunately you won't be able to fast-forward .WMA. However I believe .WMA (lossy) was added to SlimServer 6.5.0 and later. .WMA lossless is always transcoded though. Transcoded means the server is changing it to something else the SB can

So ... if I state that the music folder is a folder on my C: drive, that is acceptable as a valid directory. If I put real files in there, it works and brings them into the library ... but that's no good as there is only 10GB free on the laptop. If I put a shortcut to a file on the network

The slashes go the other way on Windows. Why? For arcane reasons, DOS used / as an option separator. (Like dir /w I think worked.) So the / was taken when DOS3.0 came out so they use backslashes for directory separators. -- snarlydwarf

I can access the Infrant using windows. I can get there using the mapped drive or by opening the UNC path with start/run and poke around no problem. Even weirder ... if I declare a folder on C: to be the music folder and put a shortcut to a file on the network drive, that gets read and put in

I'd love to have one that was small enough to put into carry-on luggage, etc. Great for hotels, cabins, etc. when travelling. Probably smaller than what a lot of people would think of as a traditional boombox, but still be able to project decent sound. Certainly need to have it easily
