I'm not sure if you can get this to work with standard SlimServer or

Hmm... I found out something more regarding my problem. If I edit the
tags with foobar 0.9, for instance if I add some info and then remove
it, the mp3s work fine with SlimServer. So apparently, SlimServer
doesn't like the files that were tagged with foobar 0.8.3 or any
version of MP3Tag. I don't
I stand corrected, although I would argue that you're really still using
Moose on your Windows machine :)

Very odd, when I was on Windows, Mp3tag worked just fine, and it does
for almost everyone here that uses it. Are you clearing/rescanning
after you make the changes, not just look for new and changed?
It does sound like some incompatibility with an ID3 tag version (ID3v1,
ID3v2.3 or ID3v2.4) or
I stumbled on the answer last night--the answer which had eluded all my
previous searches of the resources here, just waiting for me to ask for
help publicly. It turns out that SlimServer ignores songs that are
unchecked in iTunes. I leave the re-ripped versions unchecked so only
one copy winds
There's a setting somewhere in SS to specify whether unchecked songs in
iTunes should be ignored or not, I'm sure. Can't remember where though
as I'm not at my home PC!

After updating SlimServer to 6.5.4 on my XP machine, my Squeezebox went
into an endless loop of reporting successful download of new firmware
followed by an error Problem: update failed and a reset.
I've tried the obvious things below:
Moving it from wireless to ethernet
Factory reset of the SB3
Have you tried reprogramming the xilinx chip?
Try unplugging the power and holding the 1 button down on the remote
while plugging the power back in.

testing again.
If I could have two controls on a Squeezebox of the future it would be
an analog volume pot, with old fashioned volume knob and a (real)
Held down '1' button and got the Xilinx reprogamming message.
The unit then booted up and notified me of a Software update (press
brightness button) and then after successful download got the same
Problem: updated failed error.
By the way, SlimServer is reporting my player info as Player

Check if you can install firmware from Squeezenetwork. If it doesn't
prompt for an update, just press and hold brightness anyway to force
it.

I'm not sure what the exact process is for updating from SqueezeNetwork,
but while playing an Internet Radio station I held down the brightness
key until an upgrade download was forced. The download was successful
but the update failed again.
In the meantime I downgraded SlimServer on the PC to

My Plugin Modules show as DISABLED on the Info/Plugin Module screen.
Both music magic and remove played songs are two i have downloaded and
put into the slimserver\server\plugins directory. These are ticked in
the web interface and i load plugins on

Now I've collected 3 SqueezeBoxes I'm thinking about a NAS.
I have read some threads here about this topic. The most people advice
the Thecus 5200 serie.
In Holland we have three versions:
-Thecus N5200
-Thecus N5200B Pro
-Thecus N5200BR(oustor) Pro
The only difference I can see
After the update with ssods-2.18-armv5tejl.pat with error 42 and then
pushing the back label I get the update screen again. I'm not jumping
to a screen with Install_check
(08-ssods_slimserver_tarball_installation_step1).
So the sequence of screens is not like Flipflip's screenshots.

Conversion from WMA to WAV is easy using DBPowerAmp and then this can be
encoded to FLAC. By using MP3Tag you can copy other the tags from WMA to
FLAC.
It works OK except that the conversion seems to add a very small amount
of silence to the beginning and end of the WAV and this needs to be
