Sounds like a plan. Since you 'have' to get an A/B Switch, might as well make sure the source from the SB3 is coming from the RCA outs instead of the headphone jack while you are buying a switch and proper cables. The headphone jack on the SB should really only be used for head phones. Maybe

install itunes. Could this be the problem. I don't know how you managed to only see one of the two, but iTunes can definitely be the problem here. I guess iTunes only sees your MP3 files. Even if you didn't include the mp3 folder in SlimServer, it will read iTunes' library to find them.
