Hi all,
I'm having an issue with my Squeezebox Receiver renaming itself. Every
time I set a new name, it sticks for maybe a few hours to a few days,
then the receiver spontaneously renames itself Chuchi. (I'm not
kidding.)
That is funny, and yes I must be a
Nope. It's a totally random name from my point of view. I was thinking
somebody might have been messing with me, but I've now added a password
to SqueezeCenter and blocked incoming connections from outside my home

Incoming connections should not be permitted on the default install -
have you opened up any ports for remote access perchance?
If so, there are ways (not going to list them here) to search for
unprotected SC instances on the web, so someone may well be messing
with your install.

IP addresses only mostly map to geolocations. There are too many

Maybe a duplicate MAC address? I haven't ever heard of it here, but if

If it's all to be on the external drive, then go to Settings Basic

AWESOME! Done and working perfectly. Thanks guys!!!

Heh, I wondered if anyone would remember that photo :) There are no
problems stacking them, wired or wireless - although if everything's in
one room I would absolutely recommend wiring it all. Throw a switch in
the rack and you're set.
Another option from what Skunk mentioned for control would
ha, true jim. but then again, thats not much different then how it is

I can't seem to find anywhere to set time zone on my SB3. It's always
been correct since I've had it until the 7.2.1 update. At first I was

I've had a case open about this for nearly 6 months. At least in my
case, when the controller is blue, it does connect to the SqueezeCenter
computer. It can download album art. It can (try) to download updates.
I've sent Support network traces proving that it isn't about wireless

Thanks for all the ideas.
The MAC address matches the sticker on the bottom of the unit.
I haven't taken any special steps to open up remote access. While

SqueezeCenter settings (which I hadn't been to before) and saw that
Oh, the other thing about the weird IP...the fuzziness of IP geolocation
aside, the weird address isn't the one currently assigned to me by my
