Initially, I tried to change the file extension from .asf to .wma and
play the file with the iTune, iTune can recognise the file without
problem, it shows a good sign as iTune won't play it before.

I do as well, but that doesn't really help in this case as the players
are in different rooms and a universal remote won't work.

You might also look at using my AllQuiet plugin with the Power Save
plugin. AQ makes it easy to pause all players with an IR remote,
Excellent suggestion - I'd overlooked that one. Because my players are
(almost) always sync'd, Power Save does the job. All I have to do is
hit Pause when leaving home. Power Save should do the rest.

After changing my wireless encryption I have this problem. The player
seems to lose the connection and it can't find it so I have to
reinstall it. Then everything works just fine.
Also, the installation works without problems. Everything is setup, I
just run it through, and then it works again.

Just upgraded to 7.3.2, and my wireless SB3 now seems to keep power
cycling - it'll stay connected for a while, and then go back to the
Logitech logo. After a while it seems to give up and revert to a blank

but on a regular Windows XP PC with enough performance (3.7.2).
I get exactly the same sync problems as described in this thread, but
also spontanious song changes while only using one of the clients (got
Squeezebox 3,
Check the label on the underside. squeezebox = SB1, squeezebox2 =
SB2.
Watch out for eBayers trying to confuse the two...

(SC connects so seamlessly to SN for some services like Rhapsody and
Last.fm that perhaps you didn't notice that Lastfm is really on SN even
when you aren't really connected to SN.)

Don't know anything about Macs, but what you want to do is bridge the
wired connection to the wireless connection.
This bridging uses different terms on different systems, I don't know
what Mac uses, but it's almost certainly included in the OS.

Go to the 'sharing' option under the system preferences, and choose to
share your ethernet internet connection with users on airport. You can
define a network name and password here.

The asf extension is not recognised in standard SC. If you want SC to
be recognise asf and treat asf as a WMA file, then I think you can add
asf to the wma line in the types.conf file.

You are close, but the two ways to use your Sweezebox are:
1. through SqueezeCenter (playing your computer-stored audio files,
mp3s, etc...with your computer on and SqueezeCenter running) and
2. through SqueezeNetwork (playing internet radio and rhapsody, etc.) -
the computer does not
Using .asf with audio only (in a windows media codec) is like using .mov
with audio only (in an aac codec). I think the SW should support it.

Running on FreeNAS here, not full blown Linux, but am working ok with
multiple SqueezePlay versions (up to 7.4) on MacOS 10.5.6 and
SqueezeCenter 7.3.3.
