Thanks for the replies.
I have set up forwarding on both protocls, so that should be covered.
Is there some free tool I can use to find out where the chain breaks? I
run win xp.

Just a quick note to say that there is an ios 4 compatible version in
the store now. The release is mainly bug fixes - nothing major has
been added other than changes to make it happier on ios 4. The cache
format has been changed - so if you have any problems after the upgrade
I would recommend
I think Slacker is 128k regardless of subscription type (free or paid).

This is correct. The benefits of paying for Slacker include ad-free
listening, but also the ability to cache stations on a mobile device
(iOS devices, Blackberry, and Android all support it), unlimited
This looks like a complete guide to compilation albums in SBS. I'll
have to have a good read...

Thats excellent news. Now my son can get a SB Radio :)
I'm actually running a Duet in the living room. And I'm using SqueezeIR
to control the analog volume of my AVI speakers. It works 100% :)

Hooray, I got it to work finally.
I suspect it was a combination of different things. I think the router
was the problem at some point. After fidling around for some time, I
sort of got through. but not really.
The next problem was squeezeplay. (I had long stopped playing around
with the Radio)
My audio life would have been miserable if i had needed he SB to change
it, it's just a good product to listen to music but please, this
adoration goes a little bit over the top.

Thanks for your comment Jean, but you obviously do not know what love
is all about.
How can I get my compilation albums to display as a single album in the
album view? They are filed by individual artist in my folder system.
Can I get them to display as a single album?

That's a never-ending story and nothing iPeng has much influence on.
Have a search for tagging issues here in the forum.
Have you tried to set the Compilation flag?

I'll try tagging when I can get around to it. I thought there might be
an easy fix like a setting or something that I missed. Thanks. App is
great, BTW.

When you say you are setting the albumartist tag, what tag format are
you setting? If it is id3, are you actually setting Band (called the
TPE2 frame), or an Album Artist tag?
Are you aware that SBS automatically detects albums as compilations if
you don't
I have had not issues with skipping or stopping since the update. I'm
running SBS on a Mac Mini and my Touch connects wirelessly. No
problems.

What do you hope to accomplish by having an album marked as a

If you set ALBUMARTIST to -anything-, and 'Group compilation albums

I've had plenty of problems with Rhapsody skipping lately. It doesn't
matter
if its a wired or wireless connection, whether its a Transporter, touch
or radio.
Iv'e notices the skipping on the Rhapsody radio channels and have not
played alot of albums lately so I cant say if it's a real issue
lord,
when i came to SBS, it was confusing because the standards and terms
were all conflated, and thats still the case today. you need to
understand some non-intuitive things, first check out the id3 standard
for mp3s:
www.id3.org
notice there is no frame for albumartist (or album artist)

I can see the player in squeezecenter config but how do I configure

Hmm.. I'm not sure your example makes sense as the second rule from the
fb2k article is
tag should only exist if an album contains various artists. It should
NOT be created when an album does not contain various artists.
So you'd only add ALBUM ARTIST tag

Good; you're half way there.
Because you have set ALBUM ARTIST=anything, by definition it is not a
compilation,
np, let me just add some things though...
its true that you don't need albumarist tags on everything... for SBS.
but to just put them on everything doesn't hurt, AND makes for a more
or less uniform exp across pretty much most every app. ...except
foobar (it seems).
