Well, I've been very happy with my QNAP TS-239 for the last few years
(running 2 x Tb). It works well as a media server, back up system and
running 2 x SBR and one SB3. I just upgraded to LMS 7.7.1, and very
pleased, no problems (I uninstalled SBS7.5.4 and SSODS first, then
installed a unified
sadly no good. I have no problem with my internet connection and no
problem getting squeezebox online with mysqueezebox.com so it cant be a
router/isp problem

I thought so too, but as long as you have an update pending, i.e.
downloaded on your local server, you will continue to get that message.

Since it was hard to show people how to use squeezecenter with

I remember similar problems with the same Thomson router. I sorted it by
lowering the security settings getting a connection and then increasing
them again. I've since changed the router to a Netgear as a result of
changing to fibre and didn't have any such problems.

Probably not - that's the actual software you install.
There is a conflict between your server version and the player firmware
version - you need to
I do the same thing from my mac with a program called Nicecast (costs
money but much more user friendly than the Windows solution). It's a
great way to 'futureproof' the Squeezebox when plug-ins don't work or
aren't available.

Hi
Too clarify
On server PC have LMS, Whitebear, and JRMC
On client PC have JRMC
In general, JRMC on the client PC reflects the state of Whitebear
accurately (not 100%)
On the server, JRMC often does not reflect the state of Whitebear.
Control of Whitebear from this PC using JRMC works

I don't recall the behavior on previous versions (because I display tag

Okay, I didn't know that. For my test I just used the FILE.EXT that was
already there in the options.
