You can file an enhancement request on bugs.slimdevices.com - it seems
reasonable
(especially if one ever gets in the situation where a rescan takes all
day like some other posters!)
What happens if you kill SlimServer manually without trying to stop th

rescan to see what comes up in the log.

I did a bit of reading on mt-daapd - as far as I can tell
it doesn't have an equivalent to the iTunes XML library, if so it's not going to

opening iTunes and any subsequent changes to the library will cause a
rescan each time.
What's your iTunes rescan interval set to? (The default of 60 seconds is

I couldn't get the OLE connection to iTunes to work at all.

Plugins can override the IR map files - the favourites plugin grabs some
of the number keys for itself, so you need to disable it.
(this is what I advise people to do if they want to use the number keys
for ratings in iTunes Update)
