I believe you do need a crossover cable. I have my SB3 acting as a wireless bridge for my popcorn hour, works great. Simply a case of plugging it in and then doing a factory restart of the SB so you can turn on wireless bridge mode. -- Gibbo

day and hence getting to the wires at the back of the receiver I noticed that when the SB is moved all power is lost to it. the screen goes blank, I then have to kind of wiggle it around until it starts back up again? must be a loose connection somewhere. Is this a 'known' fault?

I haven't got it working, still have the problem. There was a bug on it but I think the bug might have been more controller orientated than SC. My bugzilla account seems to have vanished, not a clue what happened to it so i've not personally reported anything.

there is an auto setting on DD-WRT, but as far as i'm aware my D-Link wireless device in my PC doesn't want to connect when its set to that, I seem to have to specify a channel for the D-Link to look for the network.

If you search the forum you should find loads of programs that people suggest using. I think I used mp3toys to find most of mine automatically, and anything that didn't have I dragged into itunes manually from the discogs web site. --
