Time seems to be the problem, the squeezeboxes don't seem to be getting
the time from the server. Is it possible that the time comes from a
time server rather than SqueezeCenter?

anything. If I unsync or turn off the squeezebox the
squeezebox2 behaves correctly - it starts playing immediately. I have
used synchronisation before I have never noticed this until I updated
to 7.3.1 (and now 7.3.2).

.1 and my music is flac format. Both the
squeezebox and squeezebox2 seem to be playing the music in flac format
so there isn't any transcoding going on. Both players are on wired
connections, although I also see the problem with a wireless player.

I think it is easy. You could try downloading SqueezePlay and try for
yourself on a Windows PC.

Ben, there seems to be a problem with the display of radio stations -
they have a black background with dark text and are missing the header
bar. (My particular interest is AlienBBC but it also does it with

My initial reaction is good. It is smaller than I thought but the screen

Speed is subjective but I would say it is fast enough, it is what I was
expecting and compares to my PDA. Apps load in a few seconds and the
browse artwork loads in 5 or 6 seconds (handheld skin).

I just receive mine and it looks quite good as a SqueezeBox controller.
I think it is going to need it's own skin though. The "Touch" and
"Handheld" are ok but I think they would need to be optimised for the
screen size.

I don't have an answer but can tell you I see the same error. If you do
get this working the "resample=44100" part of the command line drops
the stream down to 44.1k and I don't know what the maximum rate the
squeezebox could receive.

Could you try using mplayer directly. This should play Radio 4:
mplayer -vo null -cache 128 -af volume=4:sc,resample=44100:0:1
-playlist http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm
This should eliminate AlienBBC/SlimServer.

If you install the AlienBBC plugin you can play RealAudio but SlimServer
won't find it for you so you'll have to setup playlists.

If you run "slim.exe --d_plugins --d_parse --d_remotestream" from the
command line you should see a load of trace. Then once it is running
try to play Radio 2 and collect the output by copying from the window.

Note: I couldn't get the patch to automatically patch the file so I had
to manualy patch it. I applied it to v1.73 of demux_real.c.
I have been running this on Windows this morning and it seems to be

As your artwork is in the same folder as the CD you could save it as
"cover.jpg" and then it should be ok. I think you can have both "ARTIST
- ALBUM.JPG" and "cover.jpg" working at the same time, so you could just
save the compilation albums as "cover.jpg&q

I think moving the menus around would be quite hard (unless you want to
hack the plugin.pm module!).
How about giving you the option to remember the last menu you selected.
That way if you always select from the playlist this is displayed
first. The AlienStream name is a hangup from the past - I t
