detail was obvious all the way through the product. I can safely say it

Agree Logitech has done SFA with Squeezebox. As a brand for Joe Public
it is virtually irrelevant. Ask the same person about networked music
they'll probably say Apple first then Sonos

Yepp definately sounds like a wireless network issue. I'd definately
recommend hardwiring for any streaming device, as it overcomes all the
shortcomings of wireless which are not obvious when just browsing.

I would think it depends on what version of Robocopy and OS you are
using. If the OS (2003 / Vista) and Robocopy are Volume Shadow aware it
probably can copy files even if they are in use.

You have share level security and file level security. They work
together. Most times it is easiest to set the share level security to
full-access for authenticated users. Then at the file / folder level
set the restrictions you want.

I like the new addition of the highlighting in 6.5.2, but one possible
improvement would be that when highlighted the entire row becomes a
hyper-link rather than having to move the mouse over the text to select

You could connect the brick to the SB3 to a timed plug and then have it
turn off during the hours you are asleep or at work.
My eight year old freezer consumes between 1.5KWh to 2.0KWh per day. A
brand new freezer which is A++ energy rated would probably be around
0.5KwH

The other issue on speed is how MySQL is configured on Linux and
Windows. I guess at that point you may want to look at a single album
and see if it really is the NAS or some other component.
A direct file copy under the two OS may also give an indicative result
of OS perfromance.

I use DBPowerAmp for my ripping and I really like it. Have used all the
R12 releases and they have been stable since early alpha. My music is
ripped to Flac.
I like extra control of tagging so tend to re-tag after ripping with

Is there a reason why you can't use a mapped network drive as the
location for the music collection? I was trying to compare the speed of
the web interface between my QNAP and Windows Slimserver 6.5. However,
the server settings won't accept a mapped network drive.

Ages since I have played with Macs but do you have any software firewall
that maybe blocking the port? Can you just load the basic extensions and
connect? How about a telnet client to the IP address and port?

How about ethernet over power adapters so that you have a wired
solution? I have come to the conclusion that wireless is fine for
laptop surfing but any serious data transfer or streaming is best done
over wires. Therefore, I am flood cabling my house with Cat6
