I don't think this is new for this build - might have been true for 6
months or so, but the --wipe option to scanner has a bug that causes the
scan to stall after the second stage (Scanning new music).

The last two posts miss the point.
The debian package of LMS doesn't work

Ok here's the tl;dr for those coming to the party late.
The exec summary: All is well, replacement feeds exist but you need a
helper plugin.

This is unhelpful. Which new thread, for there are several, none of
which give a definitive answer, and you give no link.
Is anyone prepared to make a knowledgeable definitive statement?
Tiode's plugin (v1.2.14) appears to no
the desired effect.
If this isn't your solution, or I have misunderstood it in some way
then I apologise unreservedly.

I declined it. I wonder if you ever really understood the problem?

So why can't I navigate by it?
Look it might be Band it might be something else. I might be persuaded
to use some other tool, but Mrs bullgod won't be, neither will 99.9% of

I already have Compilation = 0 on all these tracks.

The scanner is demonstrably already determining the correct Album
Artist, it's just I question of listing it in the appropriate place.
Your example is inappropriate, in that case there is unlikely be an
explicit Album Artist, in which case SC can fall back on "Various
Artists".

and it worked fine (for me) - where there is a album artist, it gets
listed there.
When I've said it's a compilation it's under Various Artists.
The only down side is that every track artist gets displayed in the

n the wrong place. If I navigate to
"Home->Artists->My Favourite Band" album "Debut" is not there.
This is the real problem, not the internal representation of the band's
name.

... is this now fixed/done?
If I go to the Artist list do I see the "Album Artist" used, where
appropriate as the sort key?
If so, can someone identify what version this fix made it into please,
if not it there any expectation that it might eventually be taken up?
Thanks

No, what happens is when you list Album, the correct Album Artist is
displayed along side them.
What is required, is when listing Artists, all their Albums are listed
together. So the above Album is listed next to "Live a
d guess that there number of true compilations is < 1%, whereas
the number of albums with heterogeneous Artists tags, that SC currently
falsely lists as compilations, approaches 30~40%.

The "list albums by band" option is just broken.
There is no way, a 20 track album with every track having the same
"album artist" info and complication flag=no should appear under
"various artists" just because there is a guest sing
d be able to work in concert.
I've pointed this out before and got shot down in flames. SC needs a
"List by Album Artist" option because the "List album by band option"
is not fit for purpose.
Only in the absence of the Album Artist, should the track artist be
used in this
to be suffering from this
bug, rather than a new one. Cheers.
