As many of you have mentioned, I am also not familiar with the details
of this case, just that I read articles on the web about it. It sounds
like from the discussion here that it probably is more about HOW the
synchronization was done as opposed to the mere fact that
synchronization took
Anyone else in this forum also see the news that Sonos has successfully
sued Google for patent infringement. It was over several things, but
mostly about how Google can pair up speakers and send music through
speakers wirelessly.
I couldn't help but think that Slimdevices and later Logitech
Apparently, with newer version of chrome, it must remember the response
to the conflict (which is to go insecurely and override the need for
https), because it is now not stopping but running as it should. Since
I am behind my router, and within my lan, this should not be a security
issue.

I apologize up front if this is a FAQ, but I could not seem to find it
if it is.
The newer versions of Google Chrome are essentially requiring https in
order to work. At the very least, I have to force it to use http; even
over the LAN to my favorite LMS (http://localhost:9000/).
Is there

Is there a way to use the
I discovered recently that Philippe's castbridge plugin services
correctly two identical cast speakers that are setup with the google
home app to be a "speaker pair". I found this to produce perfectly
synced stereo LMS output using this plugin. The better quality your
speakers are, the better
So, I reinstalled the pandora plugin (that is required), and also made
sure that the current pandora password for my pandora account is entered
in the pandora my apps on mysqueezebox, and it works and runs pandora at
192 kbps. Probably one of the main reasons I dropped it before was the
limit
I just want to state in this forum, that the logitech media server
(formally slimserver), and the squeezebox player, continues to be the
best music player and music file organizer available. Even after all
these years, and new products from many companies and developers, it is
the best. Plex
At the risk of diverting from the direct topic, I will put in my 2
cents. I have been using Tidal on the LMS and happy with it, albeit, at
the mid bit rates (not the flac or master rates, and not the lower
rates). Now if I play Tidal through my Android phone, in order to
prevent the player
Microsoft now offers through their "store" free linux installations
within Windows itself as an app. Ubuntu came first, but there are
several others now. Basically a bash environment. I have no idea how
good the graphical interface will work for this type of setup, but you
do not need that
I have been using linux since 1994 when Win-95 was released and I was
sick of the blue screen of death from Win-3.1. Never looked back. For
beginners, I recommend Mint or Ubuntu-LTS distribution, but I use
Debian. Lots of choices with Linux, so if you want it to look like
Windows-7 go ahead.
I have subscribed to both and there are things I like about both. When
spotify stopped their direct support for LMS, I switched to Deezer just
to try it out. The main thing I noticed about Deezer is that the
download mode from server to phone works much faster. Their servers
must be set up
I have used squeezelite for years with linux. Coupled with the web
interface for LMS (locahost:9000) it works beautifully. There are
several other options as well depending on what you like to listen to
(local library, spotify, internet radio, etc.).
Partly answering my own question, I researched the new service a little
bit. I have not actually tried it, and there is a free month trial.
But, from what others have said, the bit rate tops at 128K which seems
very low for a $9.99/mo fee. That combined with new direct LMS service
will
Michael, while you are listening in on this conversation, I would like
to express my gratitude for all the good work you have put into Spotty.
For me, it is really a toss up between Spotify and Deezer. It is easy
enough to switch also.
One additional question for this group. Google is now
The main thing that I like about deezer, apart from the fact that it
works well with LMS, is that the download speeds are very good; at least
to me. There is a noticeable difference in downloading the local copy
of an album to my phone, for example. Really much faster. I don't know
why.
I used to use Spotify, but changed when they did.

I tried using plex for everything (movies, home-movies, photos, music).
I have been a LMS user for many years and still have my squeezebox.
Eventually, I dropped the music server from plex, and went back to LMS
for the music server. The plex server is much to slow. It cannot
handle a large
I have tried plex media server, and decided to just use it for photos,
movies, home movies, TV shows, but not the audio collection. For the
audio collection, I am retaining my LMS. It seems that plex is very
slow for larger collections by comparison to LMS. Also, the LMS is much

Hello Stefan !
I recently installed your Squeezeplayer product on my Google Nexus 5X
phone. This phone does not come with an sdcard, which may be import to
solve this problem ?
I also am using the Squeezer player. My logitechmediaplayer server is
running 7.9 on my debian linux jessie server
This is a general trend. Logitech does not care about us anymore it
appears to me.
At least Sirius notified their customers. Have you ever received an
e-mail from Logitech when support for anything was going away from the
product we purchased from them ? At least they do keep this forum going
Just signed up. After losing MOG, I still have no favorite. Calmradio
has a lot of good choices, and plays nicely over the squeezebox. I wish
for an album art display. The album art works fine on the ipad.

First MOG, now Radio-IO. History. No longer available to the consumer.
They are going to try to make it for businesses only.

Just wanted to back up what oldmojo says. It sounds like I am in a
similar situation. It really irritates me that Logitech has screwed up
such a great product line. Why did they purchase slimdevices if they
wanted to do this to it ?
I used to use spotify before switching over to MOG. It is really a
shame to have lost MOG. I really did like it; especially on my
squeezebox. Losing MOG is only 2nd to losing squeezebox; squeezebox
being a slow death due to Logitech buying them out. I have been a loyal
purchaser of Logitech
