I can't speak about the radio but my experience with sbr's shows they
are very tenacious about talking to their "previous" AP even if there is
an AP right next to them with a 100% signal.

It might be better to un-check the iTunes option and just point LMS to
the folder.
There is a java script (note the space) that will move the artwork from
iTunes to LMS cover.jpg files.

If that's true, you will need to put a link in the folder you choose in
LMS to the other music folder(s.) This will let LMS find all your music
since it follows links.
If you are using the latest LMS, you can put an additional folder on
the settings/general tab.
