that Logitech should build an alternative to SC is one
thing, but to imply that SC is the only _possible_ solution is entirely
wrong. There's at least one other server implementation that I know of

Are you transcoding to something (like flac) or sending it straight as
wav? If the latter you should be able to ff/rew, but that won't work
with any transcoded format. Some plugins (e.g. inguz) can also prevent

Are you sure it's the Controller which has fw23? 23 is the current
release fw for the Receiver. Both will automatically update themselves
as needed so you shouldn't ever need to do it manually.

The Receiver and Controller both require version 7.0+. Firmware won't

From what it says on Robin's page I think you need Perl 5.8 not 5.1. The
errors you're seeing look like they could be caused by that. Give it a
go - the download is on the same page as 5.1.

You can't, the Receiver is not an access point - when you connect
directly to it from the SBC you're using an adhoc connection. I believe
the connection is in some way encrypted but I don't know the details.

New Changed music goes by the file date stamp, so if your tagger
didn't update that (some don't) then it wouldn't have known it had
changed. Doing a full wipe is always safe.

In my experience the SB3 wireless card is pretty good, I use them in
bridged mode in a few places in my house and where they have trouble
other devices (i.e. laptops, iphone etc) also have trouble.

something isn't working here. Could you post the version you're using?
Also try going to the logging page and enabling debug logging for scan,
and then rescan and see if there are any errors in the logfile.
