I think it depends on what the mythical third party wants to do. If they simply want to easily add streaming audio to a device which doesn't have it (e.g. SBR-in-a-minisystem) then sure, I can understand them just licensing the whole SBR and throwing it in. On the other if they already have a streamer, display, CPU, software etc etc I don't see how any licensing deal would be very useful. Any firmware Logitech could provide probably wouldn't work on their box without a lot of modification so why not just implement it yourself and save the fees?
