The pattern is surname, e.g Otis *R*edding is in the R's for Redding. Use some tagging software like mp3tag (http://www.mp3tag.de/en) and I suspect you'll find these files have "ARTISTSORT" tags as well as ARTIST. ARTIST=Otis Redding ARTISTSORT=Redding, Otis -- smc2911
