Wouldn't speed in connection affect streaming of radio sound bytes? Once
there's a minute drop in data speed I notice these sorts of problems
myself.

The problem tends to be on AM Clearchannel Icecast Akamai stations, but
MySB.com and/or RadioTime are having issues. I think RadioTime is
changing their entire stream format so expect glitches.
Many have resolved these issues by running SBS server as you are doing
(which isn't resolving it for you :().
Maybe try not running your software player? That might be
