i am having the same problem.. my files are all located on a NAS device

database update.. Do i run it directly from the mysql tool? where is
the squeezecenter database located?
I think the devs need to take a look at this mor

That is good to hear! Did you need to tweak the SQL at all, or did it
work as is?

Great stuff - have run the SQL on the squeeze center on my media PC and
it works a treat.
FYI - Have also been looking at ways to improve controller performance

I just thought I would provide an update on some further investigation
work I have been doing today.
Listed below is another snippet from the SC logfile when I selected an
album by ABC on the controller (SBC):

I received my 2nd Duet system about a week ago (this is actually system

Anyway, I noticed something surprising when using the new controller.
Once it was connected to the SC server, I selected Music Library and

Problem solved - i installed the latest nightly on the server and it
seems to work quite good :-)

I hope you've given your player a name? There's been a known issue with SC 7.0
when players were not given a name.

Hi,
I have a AMD 4800, 5 gb RAM, Samsung Spinpoint HDDS and win2003 server.
The reciever is connected with cable, not Wlan.
Still, I experience lag, slow refresh, 20 seconds to open folders and
so on... on the Controller.

I am beginning to suspect that I am the only person who is experiencing
this problem (& it is still present with controller software build

If this is the case, I would be interested in hearing from anyone else

I am now on Duet system 3 (the first 2 had hardware problems so were
returned) and am still seeing the same lag issue when viewing tracks
for an album.
As previously described whenever I select an album (using the
controller) that I havent previously looked at, it takes a minimum of

I experience a similar problem. Sometimes it just takes ages for the
controller to load "Artists". Very annoying, when trying to skip to
something different. Can't seem to find a pattern. The connection is
very good.
And a sidenote: It's not logical that in order to start in the middle

Sorry, what I meant was that I believe that the controller shares some
of the user settings with SC7, so if you choose to hide artwork for
*track* listings on SC7, you dont see thumbnails for *track* listings

I haven't noticed the issue you are seeing. I would point a couple of

As per the following link:

Can you confirm whether the Controller always generates thumbnails for
each album track even when this has been disabled as an SC preference
(hide artwork)?
Thanks

Apologies if this has already been discussed before.
I received my Duet today and have set the controller up to control an
existing SB3. The SB3 has a wireless connection to a Vista PC running
SC 7.0.1 with a wired connection to a NAS where the media files are
stored. I am very happy with the con
