Electricians are notoriously poor at terminating and testing ethernet
cables.

Since you have tried the setup as you have had it before and it doesn't
work, I think you need to try doing something different than what it was
before.
What I would do is assign a static IP address (outside of the DHCP pool
of course) and ping the TP from a computer plugged in to the same

Try pressing & holding the BACK (left) arrow, this will put the SB3 in
Setup mode. Scroll to Network Setup, select Wireless.
If it isn't offering Wireless as an option then possibly it's WiFi board
is fried or disconnected.

Are you sure the wifi router does not lock out clients based on MAC
address ?
A shot in the dark: try changing (temporarily) the channel used by the
wifi router ?

Hi all
I had a power interruption yesterday and since then my Squeezebox 3 (aka

The player at location 1 was displaying the same symptoms as the two

The problem with player 1 resolved by changing
Strange, my SB3 ignores updates when set to off.
When you had the dark screen did you try the Brightness button?

Your SB3 getting firmware every time it switches between MySB.com and
SBS server is normal, it is only doing what it is designed to do.
Your SBS server and MySB.com server are running two different firmware
versions and the player is detecting this difference.
You can turn this off on an SB3 by go
Can now confirm the issue with one unit at least is caused by

The cables are less than one meter between the switches and the players

Thanks anyway.
Will try a xilinx reset hadnt tried that one. Will advise

When in doubt, do an xilinx reset and reload the firmware. Can't hurt.

I've been having problems since 7.5.3.
I've reverted to 7.5.2 and now to 7.5.0 without success.
I've managed to get my SB3 playing music without dropping the

I think your problem might be solved by moving this one closer and
using a shorter network cable. ;)

Try static ip over ethernet my old SB3 works fine that way . and run 7.6

The static address should by outside the range allowed for DHCP in the
router.
(Most router has a setting to for this.)
And you have to specify all settings during the setup .

Good summary of your problem and attempts to solve. Seems related to
the various DHCP threads started since the 7.5.3 update.
I suddenly have 3 x V3 Squeezebox Classic players with this problem when
trying to connect via a wired connection.
Have had the first Squeezebox Classic for 4 or 5 years approx.
Brought a second, used Squeezebox Classic around 12 months ago.
Both have worked without a problem in the same buildi

Is the power supply to it functioning? (when you swapped SB's did you
use the same PSU?)

Does a laptop work with the same cable plugged into the same port on the
router?
Do you have MAC address filtering on? Does the SB report the same MAC
address as what's printed on the bottom of the unit?
What error message are you getting on the SB?

Hi,
got a nasty problem here with sb3. I cant get it connected anymore with
my network. sb is connected with cable to wireless router, which in turn
should connect my pc to sb.
The router has just been renewed (netherlands, sagem 'livebox'), due to
phone problems which are now solved.
