No, but if you care to and have an ipod made before the "Classic" you
can probably run Rockbox. (www.rockbox.org) Plays flac, ogg, and all
that and can be synced using your choice of Linux programs. Works
great for me - one flac library, no messing about with playlist

There are a number of programs that will transfer music
(+photos, video) to iPODS. In many ways, they are superior to
iTunes for most Linux users, as you can imagine.

You can also run SC 7.3 which automatically finds iTunes artwork.

I found on my windows install back when I was using itunes there were
about three places it kept the xml file with the links to the artwork
(.itc files).
The artwork can be extracted using this,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/iaae I have not used this extractor but
if it doesn't work just google
