Hi everyone,
I have a DS Lite and considering purchasing the Web Browser software.
Apart from wanting to access the internet, I'd also like a quick and
dirty way of creating simple quizzes for my kids. I'm wondering:
1/ What javascript support comes with the browser? If I had my
questions as jpe
Thank you both, I'm just playing with the DS and... I definetely agree,
frustrating.

I agree with zingerhill and thing-fish: slow, but just about usable with
handheld skin. The DS has a very nice toggle between Overview (1 screen
shows a zoomed in view of the other) and SSR (Small Screen Rendering)
which is useful. However, the nature of the SlimServer / SqueezeCenter
interface is

Check out zingerhill's review above. As excited as I was, the way
Nintendo implemented the Opera browser makes it pretty much a no-go for
pick-up-and-go use the way you'd want it for squeezebox control. I used
it at a pa

Hopefully this review doesn't end the discussion or attemps at
developing a feasible DS remote. This would be a huge addition, since
the only complaint I can see with the SB3 is lack of a great visual
interface. The LED is nice, but if you just want to browse through
your collection it is not so
zingerhill,
Thanks for the review.

I've had a chance to use this thing for about a week now so here are
some thoughts:
1. You should think of this as a good WAP phone browser. It really
pales in comparison to any computer browser or even the Wii browser. It
is very slow to render pages and has a lot of problems with complex
sites.
Ordered one today from Newegg. Both my kids have ds lites. Should have
it by weekend. Will report back when it comes in on how it does as a
slimserver remote.
Looks pretty interesting: here is a link to the opera site which has
some screen shots--actually allows you to combine both screens.
Any reviews yet??

The 'R4DS' (http://r4ds.net/) catridge system allows homebrew
development on the DS using a microSD memory card for storage - cost:
~$40.

So, tell us, how did it work? for $30, I'm thinking of getting the
browser but I haven't yet found any good writeups on how well it works
with gmail, slimserver, googlemaps, flickr, etc. Those are the sites I
would want to use.

I just bought the DS Browser for $30. I bought it primarily to use as a
SqueezeBox remote. I tried it at the office and it worked pretty well.
The stylus makes it much easier to use than the PSP browser. Can't wait
to give it a shot with SlimServer.
Has anyone else tried this and found a skin tha
Hi,
It strikes me that the DS Lite's Opera based browser and touchscreen
could be a great, cheap control for Slimserver.
Has anyone tried it.
Another idea is a 'fat client' that is made available as a 'game'
cartridge for Slimserver remote control.
These could help compete with the Sonos control
