I am in the process of setting up squeezebox on my raspberry pi, have
downloaded latest version and installed on sd card, gone through
everything and have logged in with required Login and password all
good.
But then I am asked to make a donation to Squeezebox( more than willing
to do so)

True static IP addresses are set on the device, not on the router. These
must not be set with IPs that are inside the router's DHCP pool.
IP addresses attributed to particular devices on the router are
"reserved" out of the DHCP pool and will not be allocated to any other

up my router to an Adsl "modem" ( really a router ) in series so that it

I didn't know that. It's quite a 'high end' domestic router though, so
I'd have thought this wasn't the case. I will check.

A Touch can loose its static settings if you poke around in the network
settings part of the UI , can't remember what exact menu that provokes
that behaviour .
I've prepared a schematic of my network to try and help clarify things
further. Anything with a solid line is cabled, anything with a dashed
line is wireless.
While I've shown all four Touch's as connected, only two are at the
moment. One of those two (top right) has two dashed lines. When it's
well.. a factory reset of the Touch still didn't work.
To try and further diagnose this, I wonder, is there something
intrinsically different from the Touch devices that would make them more
susceptible to network issues, as opposed to other Squeezedevices?

I'm pretty sure I did initially set up proper static IPs as per advice
you'd given before, including the VB. My details are almost identical to
those you've given. I think my IP was xx.xx.xx.10, and I had the DNS

A properly configured wired network will typically function without
issues unless a piece of hardware fails. But wireless, particularly G,
is susceptible to all kinds of interference as noted by others. It's one
reason why I avoid wireless whenever possible and, when I can't, will

Yeah, your original issue was one player in one location, where a player
swap would be a good diagnostic tool. But if it is now multiple players
in different locations that seems more like a general network or host
computer issue.

Yes, but a quick and temporary "swap" of player locations would help
diagnose your issue. It could confirm your issue is network/environment
related and eliminate the Touch itself as a culprit.

I think the fixed/static IP assignment is way over

correctly is highly dependent on how the house is wired.

differently in the US than the UK and Europe. Most of our stuff in the
US is ~110VAC 60Hz with some 220VAC for things like stove/ovens,
electric heat/boilers and electric clothes dryers. I think much of the

I realised I had one other option because of where the Touch was sitting
connecting it directly to the router via Ethernet.

Touch temporarily without the Powerline adapter just to see if it then
can connect to LMS.
Then you will know if the Powerline adapter is the issue.

They are supposed to bring up some menu instead of clearing the playlist
right away when you tap an item so that you can't accidentally delete
it.

Sounds like your NAS is not configuring networking properly. Try simply
stopping then restarting LMS on your NAS. Now try online streams.
Any other programs running on NAS? Particularly and media server type
programs?

Softsqueeze is working of the server computer
and I can play music from the server with Roku using "Main Squeeze"

Ok, here is the situation, I am having trouble hooking up to an old
squeezebox 2. Everything was working fine, but I changed the computer
that is the server. Here are some details:
Server is MacBook Pro OSX 10.6.8
New install of LMS 7.7.2 - r33893
Squeezebox 2 wired
Macbook is hooked up via ethe
I can now play the recent episodes by going into the radio and searching
for "Stuff you missed" its the last few episodes but it's better than
nothing. shape the podcast app doesn't work tho.

Glad it's not just me. But it's very annoying. I've restarted the whole
server with no change. Interesting that the number ov episodes varies.
When it first happened I could access them via mediafly (fiddly but
possible) but that's gone now.

I've had the same issue for awhile and this is what brought me here.
Mine are how stuff works podcasts also. When I go to remote player in my
squeezebox.com it has the correct list with recent episodes. But from my
boom they are older ones.
Other podcasts seem ok but could be episode limit.
It loads 396 items for me and plays the 396th item (Ghengis Khan).
Did you try to restart LMS - perhaps a memory issue especially if on a
NAS ?

This may be a silly problem. But I have two wired computers on my
network and have no problems accessing the web interface at
127.0.0.1:9000. However, I can't get this to work on my wifi connected
laptop in Firefox or my iPhone in Safari. Is this a firewall, or router
setting issue?

I have enjoyed the station "Martini in the morning" for some time now.
But suddenly the Transporter say it is "unknown format". It is
mp3/128kb.
Anyone with a possible solution? I love the station, but I also love my
Transporter...

It's working fine for me on Linux. I just configured it via MySB.com
and then installed the plugin on the server. I think I had to remove
and re-add the plugin when I forgot to configure it on MySB.com first
but nothing more complicated than that.
It's a great service but it's costing me a fort

Ubuntu server and that the server has a working Internet connection?

I have the latest version of Logitech Media Server loaded onto a
computer that runs Linux (Ubuntu/Mint) and I also have a Squeezebox
Boom.
I have installed the MOG app for Logitech Media Server on several Linux
boxes but cannot get the Logitech Media Server 7.7 software to show the

Well, it seems I managed to fix this problem somehow. I tried two things
so I'm not exactly sure which one fixed the problem for me. Anyway,

I run a SB classic on Vista. A server update got stuck this morning and
now I can't open web control; I can't stream from spotify. The system
still streams properly from my music folder.
The diagnostics page on the diagnostics tab of the control panel says
everything's fine except Port 9090 (

The problem appeared to be with the fact I had set the ReadyNAS as a
fixed IP address (I spotted someone else in an old thread on a
different part of the forum with a similar problem). The VM Super Hub
simply didn't like it. Changing it to a dynamic address enabled me to
enter my mysqueezebox.com
As Ron suggested your SBS may be starting before your NAS has completed
it's network setup. Try stopping then restarting SBS on the NAS.
You can get an "invalid" message for MySB credentials if your SBS
server cannot see MySB (i.e. no internet). It cannot validate what it
cannot see.

Many thanks for the ideas. I'll give them a try when I get a chance (my
wife thinks that we should be unpacking boxes after the move, rather
than me fiddling with the A/V setup).
Failing that, I'm going to plug my old Netgear router into the VM Super
Hub (set it up as a DMZ) and use the Netgear r
Sometimes, the "can't resolve IP address" problem is due to Squeezebox
Server starting before the network connection has come up. Restarting
SBS after the network is up fixes this issue.

will be from the mysb.com server whic may not be in the same country as
your squeezebox.
There used to be a workaround (IIRC adding #noslim=1 to radio URL) but
you'll need to get the radio URL and not a playlist URL.

I am trying to listen to http://www.krockradio.com. It works fine from
my laptop using their website, but when I try and listen via my
squeezebox it say's it's country restricted. Same internet connected,
no proxy etc etc etc
Anyone offer some advice?

I browse be album a lot. I will usually add certain songs of an album to
the now playing list. It seems that songs I frequently add to the now
playing list now show up as a seperate album when I browse by album.
The certain songs do not show up on the original album any more.

Just as a follow up , as a last resort I did a clean install of the SBS

now everything works as it should.
So I guess in hindsight I must of had something messed up in the
