After 4 reboots the problem went away, so I guess it was not the

Thanks for the update. I couldn't get it to start, no matter how many
reboots. Then again, I have a fresh system that I just reformatted so
it couldn't be anything that was left from an old uninstall or
something.
At any rate, I was able to get the 6.3 maintenance release to work - I

Thanks, after several un/reinstalls I've managed to get 6.5 working -
however I've still got my original problem which caused me to upgrade
in the first place . . . SlimServer isn't picking up any of my iTunes

I've seen the same behaviour, and nothing was improved by jumping all
the way up to 6.5 instead. I'm going to try and downgrade to a nightly
build of 6.3 and see if that fix's things

jodrell, If you upgrade / downgrade to / from 6.5 to any other version -
it is worth deleting your database slimserversql.db file entirely before
doing the upgrade / downgrade.
For what it's worth, I'm very happy with 6.3 currently (although it's
still pre-release).

erm, tried the up/downgrade with no joy (6.3 stays up for about 30
seconds before going away again) . . . where do I find the
slimserversql.db so that I can delete it?? I'm running it on OSX

That sounds pretty much like the problem I had until I deleted the db.
The build of the database is very different between 6.2/3 and 6.5
branches.
See the 6th or 7th post in this thread for details relevant to mac
setup.
I have been an avid user of Slimserver for almost 2 years, but my recent
upgrade from 6.1 to 6.2.2 has caused my itunes playlists to lose their
contents, even though the playlist names are still visible on my SB v3.
No amount of rescans etc brings the playlist contents to life.
Nothing else has

upgrade from 6.1 to 6.2.2 has caused my itunes playlists to

The fix seems to be to clear the value of Server
Settings-iTunes-iTunes Music Folder and rescan.

I've discovered why all tracks were shown twice in the playlist: they
existed twice in the albums... Am having a full rescan and so far it
looks ok.

I was having a few problems (none of the ones you had though) with 6.2.2
this morning and went back to 6.2.1 and all is well once again.

I had a similar issue. I deleted the .pref file and reinstalled 6.2.1

i'm having the same issue. i have reinstalled several times -- there
doesn't seem to be an uninstall option for the mac, so i delete any
slimserver/squeezebox files, then redownload and reinstall. each time
it seems to install fine, then i press 'start' and five seconds later
it stops running.
Is there anything new on this subject in the last month? I have only
had a small amount of time to check the list and my search has found
nothing.

I too am having problems with 6.2.2 with a SB1 SB2 connected to it.
My music collection is almost all ogg and flac with a few mp3. My SB1
will not make a sound for any of them. I have also taken the step of
disconnecting SB2 and then restarting slimserver to see if there may be
some confusion
Hi,
Well, I did what you requested, and the result with 6.2.2 is still the
sameno play of flac files on SB1`s.
I have managed to get 6.02 back working again by deleting fully
slimserver, including its folder and registry entry.
So back to square one!

Hi,
I have all files checked except:-
a). All Shorten types,
b). Wav Flac flac..By the way, I have to uncheck this in order to
allow my SB2 to play Wav files!
c). Oggvorbis Flac sox/flacWhich I have to uncheck to enable SB2
to play Ogg files!
I have even stripped the file types
This is weird, it's almost like the server thinks you have an SB2. Can
you disable everything except FLAC/WAV/flac and then try a flac file?

Well, I`ve tried lots of things to get to the root of the problem with
6.2.2, and have given up meantime.
Unfortunately whereas previously if I reverted to the older version of
slimserver (6.02) all of my SB`s would play all required files, now my
3 SB1`s will still not play flac files!

The firmware is the current version 40, so I suspect if I could roll

Hi,
Actually, the SB2 is now playing all files OK.
It is only the SB1`s which do not play flac files.
Both SB1 and SB2 are using the same server settings (same slimserver)
Strange but true!

I don't think the SB1 can play flac natively, so
