I'll have to look for a power supply that isn't suspect

The warranty on Squeezebox Classic is now two year years. That's good
even if your manual says one.
You bought it more then two years ago?

I'm almost positive this is long out of warranty, but I'll check anyway.
Won't hurt!

If you bought the SB3 on a credit card, many credit cards extend the
original warranty for up to a year. You might want to check to see if
you are covered.

Same thing happened to me 2 months ago - 2 week turnaround and had the
unit back - they replaced the whole motherboard - good deal for $90.

Definitely out of warranty. I do get the red glow from the optical
output, so I know its getting power.
Good tip on the $90 fix. That's much cheaper than rebuying if it comes
to that.

Sorry to hear about that. Do you get any red glow on the back side of
the SB3 (I think that's the optical output)? Do you have another power
supply you could use to test whether it's the power supply or the SB3
itself? (make sure is PS is the right voltage, amperage, and polarity)

I moved my SB3 from my home to my office and now its completely dead. I

Anything else I can try or am I out of luck?

That would do it, yeah!
At one time Slim didn't mind if you opened the box up to check for
things like this, and it would have bee
Update: My repaired SB3 has returned home from Slim Devices and is
working perfectly again.
The root cause was that the CPU board came loose from the main board,
so they added "extra adhesive" to prevent that from happening again.
Thanks all for your T/S help, but I guess it was a hard failure.

Hello,
i had yesterday a similar problem.
My SB3 was behaving normally, except that it would no longer playing

After several attemts to re-configure my network / restarts / factory

I’m afraid I can’t offer any technical explanations, and can
see no logic as too why there should be any connection between adjusting
IP settings and what seems like a power failure to the squeezebox.
However, I can pin-point the time of my squeezebox crashing to

SB3 (about 1 year old), via wireless, windows xp, has been working fine,
but tonight (of course just before a get-together with guests), it will
not turn on at all.
No response from the remote, and yes, I tried changing the batteries
and holding the power button down as well.
