Cool speakers :) Then an unmodified Touch would do just fine , that's
what I use to feed my Meri
Thanks .. yes I'm very impressed with the DSP3200's
Its a second room system and FAR better than I thought it would be
I have just managed to secure a pre-owned SBT on fleabay for 200 GBP ...
which apparently is quiet a fair price!

Hi
I am using the dac's built into the Meridian DSP3200 speakers ( they are
active ) and support 96k
I don't have any 192k music ( doubt I will ever either )
Thanks

Arre you already using a separate dac ? If not you may find the analog
out of touch an improvement .
And the ability to run some apps and native AAC that an sb3 can't
handle.
Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD6
SB3 supports 24/48khz so it's at least 24 bits .
A Touch or Transporter also have better spdif outputs with lower jitter
etc.
But realistically if you use it as transport to a decent DAC I doubt you
can actually hear the difference under controlled cicumstances ( abx or
ab blind test ) , neither
Thanks for the replies guys.
Oh well I guess I will have to invest in another SBT .. or similar

As pipin mentioned the limitation is with the processor used in the
SB3 and earlier devices, it can only handle a data rate up to 48KHz, so
it supports only 44.1 and 48. The Touch and Radio use much faster
processors that can handle the faster sample rates rates.

No, nothing to do with the server version.
And no, you can't pass through 96kHz, the limitation is with the
processor, not the DAC. The SB3 only supports 48kHz/24 bit.

Hi
I realize that there is a limitation with SB3 ( and earlier ) whereby 96
/ 24 is down sampled by the server. Now my question is this :-
I am using the digital out and assume that technically the stream can be
passed thru untouched and retain its sample rate / bit depth etc ?
If so, how can I
