Here's a potentially dumb question, but I don't find any previous threads. With all the enthusiasm for a low-wattage storage system, but a relatively small number of punters with the capacity to create and administer a server-based system, why isn't there a LT proprietary option? Surely it can't

I'd like to see something built to run SC for joe six pack as well. Personally I'm more than happy to use whatever cheap machine I can get my hands on as a server, or better yet just run it on my desktop which will be on most of the time I'm home anyway (not to mention where I have the ripping

All good points skunk. I guess it's a market pitch. I guess theres an argument that luring joe away from iTunes DRM and whatever pirate stuff s/he can download is tough. I am currently debating the merits of testing my capacity with a readyNAS setup but for a common boob like me, I might waste

Yeah, this is a good idea, but as Skunk mentioned, the networking is another significant part of setup difficulty. It's too bad that there isn't a larger market that would support a 3rd party putting together a server/SB package that would be reasonably priced. For me, I enjoy the process of
