Thanks folks for your suggestions. Seems what I needed to do is treat
the Linux box as if it was a Windows box, and simply reboot it (I
actually did so, and then discovered that that solved the problem).
Thought for sure I'd restarted all of the relevant processes. Guess I
must have missed one.
I don't have a transporter, only SB3s and Booms, bit I am running 64-bit
Ubuntu and 7.5.2. All is working fine here, and I only use FLACs. I have
ia32-libs installed as that's always seemed to be a requirement for me
(usually as part of the iplayer plugin I think).

Hmm search this forum , there is 32bit compatibility something you
should install when running 64 bit ubuntu.
But .
is flac installed on the system ?
Do you have non standard file types settings to stream flac as wav ?

I'm running SqueezeBoxServer on an Ubuntu 10.04 x64 box. I just did an
upgrade (to 7.5.2 - r31632, as well as other Ubuntu upgrade bits), and
now have very odd behavior. My Transporter can no longer play ogg and
flac files. It can play downloaded mp3 files, as well as Internet
radio (also mp3).
