Other than maybe some minimal polling so the server knows it's alive, I
don't think the Roku box uses any bandwidth when it's not streaming a
movie.
Since I unplugged the Ethernet cable for the Roku unit yesterday and
then plugged it back in, I haven't had any more problems with Sync. But
I have

If I had to guess, I would expect that it's not a bandwidth issue but
does the Roku use bandwidth even when it's not streaming a movie? I
would think anything that is taking the wireless bandwidth of the
receiver could cause this very issue.

Well, the only configuration difference between the two players is that
I have a Roku Netflix player connected to the Ethernet port of the
more-distant SB3. When I disconnected that cable, the two SB3s seemed
to get back into sync.
I'll need to play with this some more, I guess.

Yes, that is a typo. I meant to write 7.3.1.
I have returned all the sync settings to their defaults, but that
didn't help.
And yes, I'm using the digital outputs on both units, but I've had them
configured that way for quite awhile w/o any problem. Also, my
associated equipment hasn't changed.

Did you mistype 7.3.1 above or are you actu
if they are wireless one of em may be having some connection
problems...To fix it I would probably upgrade to 7.3.1 since it
completely rewrote the sync code and vastly improved it.

well i'm very confused now since SB3 seems to be the weak link!! Loaded
SC7 and sync'd both SBs. Both started playing (SB1 wireless strength
30% & SB3 68%) for approx 30-50secs then SB3 stops playing and starts
re-buffering. Manage to restart but then them almost immediately SB3
re-buffers again.

thanks radish, I may as well give SC7 a try. Incidentally I've found SB3
to be no better than SB1 regards wireless stability (ie my SB1 is fairly
solid). Anyone out there got a SB1 sync'd with a SB2/3?

Well the SB2 and SB3 internals are basically the same, so the real
question is how well have people done with sync on the SB1. I did use
to have one and it generally worked but did have problems. Remember
that the SB1 is MUCH more sensitive to wireless problems than the SB2/3
and when synced that
I have tried running sync on 6.5.4 loaded to my PC (rather than QNAP)
but the results are the same. Havnt tried SC7 yet but will it make any
difference? I am beginning to wish I hadnt bothered buying the active
speakers (or more accurately done some more research upfront - I
thought sync was a sta
Yes, 6.5.4 is better. And yes, SB2/3 are much better than SB1. :)

Thanks andyg; is 6.5.4 likely to be any more stable than 6.5.1? Is the
hardware a factor (SB1/2 worse than SB3)?

Yeah, sorry I don't know of the status of SC7 for QNAP. Sync is mostly
OK with older versions, but it's not perfect.

Hi Andyg, Sorry for my ignorance but I'm assuming SC7 is just the latest
version of SS with a name change? I've only recently discovered a script
to get my QNAP onto 6.5.1 and I'm guessing going to SC7 on QNAP wont be
easy? Does that mean I cant use SYNC on my current sw level?

Sync sucks in older versions of SlimServer, please try SC7.

Hi eric, MP3 mainly encoded at 320. The Qnap is wirelessly connected to
both SBs. Forgot to mention when playing both SBs together but
un-sync'd they appear to behave.

What kind of files are you playing? Is your server also running
wireless?
