Based on your suggestion I did some more tests and may have found the
root cause of the issue. See

Hi,
I upgraded three machines from Devuan ascii to Devuan beowulf. Now one
of these machines has non-deterministic problems during startup that
look like being related to eudev. As that machine was originally
derived by cloning the hard-disk of another machine that works fine, I
suspect this iss
Hi,
in March I upgraded from Devuan Ascii to Beowulf, using the
documentation provided here:
https://beta.devuan.org/os/documentation/dev1fanboy/en/upgrade-to-beowulf
Only three small problems popped up since that time:
1) During upgrade:

Hi,
just wondering what sources.list I should use for upgrading devuan
ascii. Depending on where I look I find either
http://auto.mirror.devuan.org/merged
or
http://pkgmaster.devuan.org/merged/
There seem to be slight differences in the packages they hold (maybe
just due to latency when mir

The german Devuan page https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devuan seems to be
facing some sort of deletion war. Somtimes it exists, som

Hi,
just noticed that in Devuan after doing "Suspend" from the XFCE menu
bar, my primary network interface is reconfigured with a new IP-Address
retrieved via DHCP. DHCP server logs confirm that.
However, I have *not* configured any interface to use DHCP! All my
interfaces use "static" primitiv

Hi,
after the recent Mint ISO hack [1], I wonder how secure the Devuan
installer download scheme actually is. The Devuan installer download
page [2] uses plain unencrypted HTML [2]. It does supply sha256
checksums, but these are also provided via unencrypted HTML only. No
GPG signatures or noth

I do have some stuff under /sys/firmware/efi/vars, but not under

Hi,
tonight I tried to install Devuan Jessie Alpha 4 on my system after
installing a new, clean hard-disk. At first I launched the Installer
from CD (EFI boot) selecting "Expert mode" in the Installer CD's Grub
Menu.
This did not work: after manually partitioning the system, I selected

Hi メット,
I haven't yet found the time to actually upgrade my Debian systems to
Devuan. I didn even consider, that there are pitfalls around the input
method support, thanks for the info, it is good to be able to consider
these things in advance (I use japanese input myself).
My usual workaround f

Replying to myself, just for the mail archives: after some chat
Hi,
can I perform an "upgrade" from Debian Jessie to Devuan, as described on
devuan.org, on a system running MIPSel architecture Debian?
Poking around in http://packages.devuan.org/devuan/pool/ I can see
amd64, ARM* and i386 packages, but not a single MIPSel one.
So is MIPS not currently suppo
