Yes, the Python developers plumped for Mercurial over Bazaar but not for
any particular technical reason.

The DVS (Digital vinyl software) I use, Xwax uses git and it seems to
work well, not that I use it for anything other than checkouts...
Might be worth asking Mark (project manager for xwax) on the mailing
list what his thoughts on it are?

I use git for all my personal projects and use git syncing to a subversion
server at work. For my needs I find it pretty easy to use and not much
different to subversion though merging and branching and the like work in a
nicer way in my opinion.
