Hi Group My name is Bill KB9IV. I'm having a heck of a time with my now
refurbish R4B .
After I replace most major caps and electrolytic I found the T8 Notch assembly
had a shorted cable to 145 VDC! I bought
a used T8 with cablesgreat success.
The R4B had now superb receive although
It has been a while since I had my TR3, but I was fairly sure that the band
switches were silver plated. The black "soot" is silver tarnish (still a great
conductor). I think the copper color would indicated you destroyed/removed the
thin silver plating.
Is anyone on the list aware of the TR3

it is extremely good condition and works perfectly.

Bob makes a good point. Many of these seem to have been changed back to
1/4" so make a test before you buy.
