You might also consider, at some point, teflon tubing over the (brass)
frame rods. HV silicone at the ends of the tubing will prevent arcing
to the rods. In the case of RF switch, it was probably gonna go
somewhere, just took the easiest path. :)

Based upon some of the tips that I received, I'm going to contact the local
automotive shops in the coming week to see if they might sell the stuff in
small quantities---and if worse come
I have always used GC's Corona Dope. It rescued sockets for 8008 and
866A mercury vapor rectifiers among other things. I am glad to hear that
the feds haven't banned it yet.
