I saw once where the relay iron core was expanding do to the heat the coil
generated around it, which to this point is normal. But in this case as the

Thanks Carl-
I will remember this. I do have a couple of those boards here in reserve.
Thanks, Byron.

That's a NEW one! :-) How long did the relay have to be energized to
generate enough heat?

Here's a ood one I leaned in my time working on IBM EDP equipment...
I have seen more than once a relay not pick because as the relay was
energized there was a very small iron filng on the core that would 'STAND UP'
and
block the relay from picking...
That was fun to find!

My TR4 with the original (fixed) relay would not pull in originally. After
"cleaning" the relay points it wouldn't release as you describe. After
putting the VOX & VOX delay pots mid range and on the third "cleaning" it did
work ...sometimes. I
went OK after the repair. That is not a fun repair for sure!!

Well things
Hello-
I have an unusual problem perhaps someone could shed some light on:
I have a TR-4 in 29K serial range that functions normally except it
will not go back into receive, until after approx 30 second delay, after the
mic button is released or the function switch turned back to "SSB
