Ok, I'm not sure I understood what you expect, but here is what I did :
I used the mesa window space clipping routines and then added a
dri/common/clip.h file that does

With radeon, only on the characters? This is likely caused by the environment
mapping on creatures which uses GL_SPHERE_MAP texgen and causes a tcl
fallback (and those don't quite work correctly) on both radeon and r200
currently. Switching it off should get rid of that, though you also need

Just a heads up -- it appears that fd.o was compromised as of about two
days ago. Daniel has taken it down while he and a few others check out
the extent of the damage and verify that nothing nastier than assisting
in the distribution of spam happened. Sorry for the troubles. :(
