Hi John,
you may use SRW/U to search. OAI-PMH is not made for searching, but for
harvesting.
Furthermore there is pf-DSpace for Federating DSpace see
http://hdl.handle.net/2160/281
But I don't know what has become of it.
Hope that helps

Hi Dspace developers and users,

Hi John,
as SRW searches via the Lucene indexes, the fulltext (as keyword) will
be searched if it's extraction and indexing is done with filter-media.

I have this useBodyEncodingForURI="true" already.
However I noticed that if I during the submission process change
character-encoding from the browser from ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8, then data will be

I'd be very interested in trying this out. How would one search multiple

Btw, I will get the SRW/U documentation I put together to you as soon as

The federated search engine searches other SRW/SRU databases. So, each
of those DSpace instances would need to expose an SRW/SRU interface.
Then, a simple configuration file lists the URLs of the databases to be
searched.

Hi Sean,
We have a simple embargo setup working on a repository with
a single collection and a simple embargo model.
I can give you a dspace-1.5.1ish-api.jar that implements this
if you like.
Good luck!

I've always gotten an empty/blank mapfile when I try to run an import or

I am in the process of installing DSpace 1.5.1. Yesterday I configured
our site to use the "fetch from cache" option for counting
collection/community strengths and it updated both the Community and
Collection counts and displayed them just fine on the home page,
Community, and Collection pages.
Your build is attempting to download the site plugin POM from a remote
repository. If you enter the given url in a browser, you'll see that the POM
is there, so my guess is that this is some sort of firewall problem.
The directory you're missing (dspace-[version]-build.dir) is built by maven,

Can anyone tell me if SubmitServlet.java got phased out in 1.5.x?

Susan,
Yes, the SubmitServlet.java was phased out in 1.5.x JSPUI in favor of
the org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.SubmissionController and the
org.dspace.app.webui.submit.step.* classes.
In addition the backend processing for each step was pulled out into the

Shaun,
The third column in the browse-title page is supposed to display the
author names, which is recorded in dc.contributor.author. Changing the
heading to "Creator(s)" is not enough. You need to modify some jsp and
servlets to have dc.creator show up.

Hi Shaun,

The jsp is for jspui only. Something else is needed to be done if you
