Not quite true. If you have a small number of synced gateways talking to a Trust Server (which is actually the standard gateway software running in a Trust Server mode), when a station moves repeaters, the update is virtually instantaneous across all repeaters. In fact, after the initial datab

I think your problem is that you are listening to a DV transmission in FM mode. All you will hear is a buzz. You need to have both radios in the same mode. Fran _ From: dstar_digital@yahoogroups.com [mailto:dstar_digi...@yahoogroups.com] On Beh

Fran, Thank you. I initially thought that also, but checked and I was in FM mode for both radios when I heard the buzzing sound and could talk over the buzz and actually hear myself on FM in the other radio. When both radios were in DV mode, the call sign and message from the buzzing radio did

Charles, How "adjacent" was the second radio (I assume it was a 91AD)? I have found that you should have about 10 feet or so separation between the 91ADs (depending on power setting) or you can run into problems with callsign/message as you describe. The buzzing is a separate issue, I t

John, I had 2 91AD's that I was loading memories and testing. 91AD "A" to 91AD "B" call sign and message went fine on DV and No Buzz on FM from "A" to "B"; same distance "B" to "A" DV did not work and Buzz heard. On 70 cm everything worked fine "A" to "B" and "B" to "A". On an IC-2820 with remot

John, I appreciate any ideas or thoughts or things to check. I also think it may be a problem/defect with the radio, but wanted to check with others just in case there might be some setting in the radio that I might have accidentally done/set that is not reset to factory defaults with the Reset

Charles, I don't remember if you said you were programming these radios by hand or using software. If using software, a full reset of the radio wouldn't be a bad idea as you can quickly reload memories. If you have the Icom RS91 software, it should be easy (additional help on my site at

There are other reasons why the radio may generate a "beep." The main one is loss of bit-sync. Every 21st frame has 0x55 0x2d 0x16 at the end - if you generate these at 20 or 22 frame intervals, sure enough, you get a beep. If you miss several, you get a beep. So, under weak conditions, you ca
